Tour The Art In Public Places While Visiting Dublin

Dublin is Ohio’s Irish Capital with tons of Irish flair. In addition to their Irish Cocktail Trail, Dublin is home to the Columbus Zoo, an incredible downtown district, and the new Bridge Park. However, one of our favorite things to do in Dublin is to go on an Art In Public Places Tour.

Art installations can be found throughout Dublin, creating a fun tour of the city. Get a selfie in the Field of Corn, admire Leatherlips, then prance among the Dancing Hares. You can take a cell phone tour of the entire collection courtesy of the Dublin Art in Public Places.

Go On The Wine trail through Richmond, Indiana

Glasses of wine, decant chocolate, and an abundance of shopping are a few of the many things to do in Richmond, Indiana. The Heartland Wine & Ale Trail will take guests on a journey as they visit regional wineries and breweries paired with tastings.

Richmond is a town with a fascinating past. Tour the Model T Ford Museum, walk the Tiffany Stained Glass Trail, a venture into the Wayne County Historical Museum. Then discover the rich history of Jazz music that made Richmond the hottest spot to record Jazz for over 30 years.

One historic stop I highly recommend is a visit to the Levi & Catharine Coffin home. Better known as the Grand Central Station of the Underground Railroad. This family was able to help nearly 2,000 freedom seekers on their journey to pursue their God-given right to be free.

Located right next door to the Levi & Catharine Home, the Interpretive Center has educational, interactive displays to highlight what life was like for a fugitive slave and those anti-slavery activists.

Visit The Kentucky Horse Park In Lexington, Kentucky

Experience why Lexington is the horse capital of the world by visiting the Kentucky Horse Park. This sprawling park encompasses acres upon acres of pastures, stables, arenas, and more.

Plan on spending a few hours discovering and learning about all things equine. A family favorite was the parade of breeds – a show offered twice daily. Make sure to check the schedule for details and times. This show does an excellent job of capturing the attention of all ages.

Be sure to check out the Kid’s Barn, which is full of interactive exhibits and a few four-hoofed friends! The International Museum of the Horse is worth a stop, as well. We found their collection of antique sleds and carriages fascinating (the oldest, reportedly belonged to Louis XVI) in addition to the impressive trophy display.

Most importantly, the park offers many chances to get up close and personal with the horses and pet a few of these beauties. It is a horse-lovers dream come true.

For more family fun, check out the playground and opportunities for exploring the park on horseback. Don’t worry if you cannot do everything in one day because your pass is good for two days of adventure at the Horse Park.
