Art After Dark At The Cincinnati Art Museum

Spread the love

The Cincinnati Art Museum aims to incorporate art into the lives of everyone.  To entice more people to enjoy art they have developed one of the city’s best-themed art events, Art After Dark.  On the last Friday of the month, the Art Museum remains open for an evening that features live music, specialty cocktails, and docent-led tours through the museum. The best part is it’s completely free!  The themes are often based around a current exhibit and have ranged from “Ice Ice Baby” to “Walk Like An Egyptian”. You never know what surprises are in store each month.  If you haven’t already had the opportunity to experience Art After Dark at the Cincinnati Art Museum make it a priority to attend one this year!  I will give you a warning, it only takes one to get hooked!

Know Before You Go

  • Each month there is a specific theme that the evening is based around. Dress accordingly if you wish to do so.
  • Have I mentioned that this event is FREE!!  No reservations are required!
  • Parking is free! It can get crowded so arrive a little early. I would even consider getting an Uber if you are arriving later in the evening.
  • Specialty cocktails, drinks, and food are available for purchase during the event. Bring CASH!
  • Ark After Dark is aimed for those 21 and older.

What To Expect At Art After Dark

Upon arriving at Art After Dark you will notice most people are dressed business casual or in the themed attire.  Mingle with a glass of wine or start exploring all the wonderful exhibits that our Art Museum houses. One of the great things about Art After Dark is all the exhibits are open to the public. This includes the specialty exhibits that often have a cost associated with them.   Cincinnati is home to one of the oldest art museums in the country so there is an astonishing amount to see including works by Van Gogh and Picasso.

Swing into the Great Hall to enjoy live performances and music that will get you moving and grooving.  Don’t forget to grab a bite to eat at the local food vendor who is set up right outside the Terrace Cafe.  Local favorites such as Eli’s BBQ, Mazunte and Django Western Taco are just a few that have made appearances. If you arrive before six there is a happy hour on specialty cocktails, beer, and wine.

I can’t advocate enough for the Cincinnati Art Museum and this is a great way to get out and support the museum and the Arts. This event was budget-friendly, classy and I got to visit one of Cincinnati’s historic treasures.   Be sure to check the Art Museum’s website for more information about the upcoming Art After Dark.  Read more about the special tours and programs the Cincinnati Art Museum offers monthly.

We would like to thank the Cincinnati Art Museum for sponsoring this post and throwing one of the best parties in Cincinnati.
