Chocolate Lasagna Made With Chocolate Graham Crackers

Spread the love

While looking for a perfect dessert to go with A Garfield The Cat Party, a Chocolate Lasagna was the first thing that came to mind. This Chocolate Lasagna is made with Chocolate Graham Crackers is simple and only requires 20 minutes of prep time.

When we heard that the Cincinnati Children’s Theatre was offering Garfield The Cat’s digital streamings, we knew that it was time to create a theatre experience at home. Passes are available for purchase so that you can create this fun theatre night in your own home. We purchased our digital passes, made an Italian lasagna, then started to look for the perfect dessert. Then we decided to craft our own version of this popular dessert.

Check out this post for more Garfield Party Ideas.

We are big chocolate fans in this household so creating this easy, delicious dessert has become a new staple in our household. Each layer is heavenly in itself but put it all together for a match made in heaven. Keep in mind that this Chocolate Lasagna with Chocolate Graham Crackers does take five hours of chilling to set, so plan accordingly. I recommend making it in the evening before serving to allow plenty of time in the fridge. Be sure to add this to your Winter Bucket List!

Ingredients Needed

  • 1 box Chocolate Graham Crackers
  • 1/2 c Cocoa Powder
  • 3 3/4 c Cold Heavy Cream Divided
  • 1/2 c Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 1/2 c Semisweet Chocolate Chips
  • Chocolate Shavings For Garnish
  • Kosher salt for garnish

Storing The Chocolate Lasagna With Chocolate Graham Crackers

We recommend making your chocolate lasagna in a 9″-x-13” baking dish, preferably with a lid. After generously serving 12-14 people any leftovers can be stored in the fridge. This dessert will keep for 2-3 days in the fridge covered. No lid? Use foil or plastic wrap.

This easy, delicious chocolate lasagna is perfect for any chocolate lover.

  • 1 box Chocolate Graham Crackers
  • 3 3/4 c Cold Heavy Cream Divided
  • 1/2 c Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 c Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 1/2 c Semisweet Chocolate Chips
  • Chocolate Shavings For Garnish
  • Sea Salt FOR Garnish
  1. The first step is to make chocolate whipped cream. In a large metal bowl using a hand mixer or in the bowl of a stand mixer using the whisk attachment, beat 3 cups heavy cream, powdered sugar, cocoa powder and vanilla until medium peaks form. For best results chill the bowl and whisk attachment in a freezer for ten minutes.

  2. Make ganache: Place chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl. Heat 3/4 cup of cream in separate vessel the microwave until hot. Pour hot cream over chocolate chips and let sit 2 minutes, then whisk until smooth.

  3. Assemble lasagna: In a 9"-x-13” baking dish, spread a thin layer of chocolate whipped cream. Add a layer of Chocolate Graham Crackers so that it covers the pan. Breaking to fit if needed. Then top with a layer of chocolate whipped cream. Drizzle over a layer of ganache and spread to make an even layer. Repeat until all ingredients are gone.

  4. Place in refrigerator for five hours to chill. Place any extra ganache in the fridge as well.

  5. When ready to serve reheat chocolate ganache in the microwave and drizzle over the Chocolate Lasagna. Sprinkle on chocolate shavings and sea salt.

To make the ganache pop add in 2 tbsp of brewed coffee or a 1 tsp of instant coffee. Don’t worry, it won’t taste like coffee.
