LaRosa’s Pizzeria has been a staple in the Cincinnati community for decades. From opening its first pizzeria in 1954 on Cincinnati’s West Side to expanding into neighboring states, LaRosa’s had made its way into the hearts of locals and tourists alike.
Whether you enjoy their signature pizza, a custom calzone, or Spaghetti-a-plenty Mondays, LaRosa’s is known to have something for everyone. However, did you know that LaRosa’s can be found in some unique spots around town?
In this article, we share a few unique LaRosa’s locations along with tasty menu items to enjoy from one of our favorite Cincinnati restaurants. A special thanks to LaRosa’s Pizzeria for sponsoring this post.
Kings Island and LaRosa’s pizza have gone hand in hand since the park opened in 1972. As the first theme park in the industry to sell pizza, the park opened La Fiera Pizzeria on International Street, which bought the dough, sauce, cheese, and toppings from Buddy LaRosa.
The pizza took center stage, which led to the park opening a second location in Rivertown. The two Kings Island locations eventually became official LaRosa’s Pizzeria franchises.
Today LaRosa’s is still a staple for many guests visiting the park. Guests can enjoy slices of cheese and pepperoni pizza, breadsticks, and salads.
Rumor claims that LaRosa’s pizza tastes better at Kings Island. Maybe it is from the excitement of the thrill rides, it is perhaps from the joys of summer, or maybe it is because they have perfected making the same two pizzas for the last 50 years at the park.
Kings Island is open for fun seasonal events such as Halloween Haunt and Winterfest where guests can grab a slice of LaRosa’s.
Tip: I prefer grabbing LaRosa’s at the International Street location so I can sit by the fountain in front of the Eiffel Tower.
Another iconic spot to grab a slice of that delicious LaRosa’s pizza is at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens. As one of Cincinnati’s top tourist attractions, LaRosa’s has been a long-time partner with the zoo offering a location at the base of the Veldt across from the Rhino Reserve.
Visitors can enjoy a slice of Cincinnati’s classic cheese or pepperoni pizza, an order of breadsticks, or grab a whole pie for the family to eat al fresco on the patio. Draft beer and canned wine are also available.
Whether catching a Red’s baseball game at the Great American Ballpark or in your living room, LaRosa’s always provides fans a game-day favorite, pizza. Take a few slices back to your seat from the stadium locations or order online from your local store to have at the tailgate!
LaRosa’s is not only found at Red’s games but also at the Western & Southern Tennis Tournament and the TQL Stadium for FC Cincinnati games.
Tip: Did you know that you can find LaRosa’s at a few high school football games? The LaRosa’s food truck can often be found under the Friday night lights!
Taste the different flavors of LaRosa’s at the Taste of Cincinnati or have confidence in that there will often be a LaRosa’s booth at all of Cincinnati’s iconic festivals and events. My child will usually only eat cheese pizza, so knowing that our favorite neighborhood pizzeria will be at Oktoberfest gives me a piece of mind that there will always be something to eat.
With a focus on community, LaRosa’s will often have a booth at many local church and park festivals.
With over 66 LaRosa’s locations, it is easy to find a location near you however, if you want to visit the LaRosa’s Pizzeria furthest south of Cincinnati, head down to Richmond, Kentucky! Richmond location offers the same great menu variety along with Spaghetti-a-plenty on Mondays and Tuesdays and Kids Pizza Night on Wednesdays.
Speaking of Kentucky locations, did you know that LaRosa’s has two other locations in Lexington that you can visit?
LaRosa’s also has locations in Cincinnati, Greater Dayton, Central Ohio, Northern Kentucky, the Bluegrass region of Kentucky, and Southeast Indiana.
Did you know you can find LaRosa’s in local Cincinnati grocery stores? That’s right! Grab jars of their iconic sauces, dressings, and even their meatballs. One of my favorite spots to find these and other local delicacies at Jungle Jims.
The first LaRosa’s opened on March 24th, 1954, at 2411 Boudinot Avenue in the Westwood area of Cincinnati. While the restaurant has since been renovated, its history is still alive and well. Guests are still dining in and carrying out LaRosa’s classics as they did in the 50s.
Want to know what pairs perfectly with an outing to Sunlite Water Adventure at Coney Island? LaRosa’s pizza! Those soaking up summer by Cincinnati’s iconic Sunlite Pool can grab a slice of their hometown pizza to enjoy poolside.
One of the best parts of living in a town with a LaRosa’s is that you can easily place an order and carry out your meal anywhere! Pick up pizzas to bring to a party, order hoagies for a picnic, or enjoy one of their new vegan options on your way to the book club. However, in my personal opinion, the best place to enjoy LaRosa’s is with good company.
