About

Consistently Curious Family Travel BlogWelcome to Consistently Curious! My name is Stephanie Taleghani the curious adventurer that created this incredible website to help document our family travels while inspiring others to get out to explore the world.

Early Years

I have loved to travel since I was young. Our family would pile in the car and take road trips throughout the eastern portion of the United States. Often times grandparents would join us as we made our way to the Smoky Mountains or to the shores of Myrtle Beach.

Memories flood back to car sing-a-longs, funny road trip stops, and family bonding over misadventures that would happen during our travels. It should come as no surprise that geography was my best subject as I found the world a fascinating place.

In high school, my secret passion was to become an egyptologist. I wanted to travel to far-off places to uncover the secrets of the world. Life had other plans and after a failed attempt at the pharmacy program, I found myself working in an Alzheimer’s Assisted Living facility.

Don’t worry! God has a reason for everything. I met my husband Afshin in the pre-pharmacy program! Only one of us made it through pharmacy school and it wasn’t me.

Hello ICU!

Working with the elderly was incredibly fulfilling and the Alzheimer patients held a special place in my heart. I wanted to make a change in the living conditions for the patients and for the workers so I pursued my dream of becoming an Executive Director.  I reached that dream at the young age of 25 after years of hard work and dedication.

However, a year into my new role I found myself in the ICU fighting for my life.  I had developed blood clots, also known as pulmonary embolisms in my lungs due to a medication.  As I lay in the ICU bed thinking of all the things I still wanted to do in my life, I knew I was going to have to make some big life changes if I came out of this alive.

By God’s grace and goodness, I left the hospital alive. A portion of my lung had died, and I was on lots of blood thinners but left a walking miracle.   I knew the stressors of my job were playing a role in my health so it was with a heavy heart I resigned from my role as Executive Director.

The Next Chapter

As I transitioned to my new role in sales and marketing, my husband and I got married and went on our dream honeymoon to Tahiti. We stayed in the overwater bungalows, took a 10-day cruise to the different islands, and sat back with hearts full of thanksgiving that I was alive to enjoy this moment.

As we sat overlooking the gorgeous turquoise waters, we decided that traveling was going to be a priority in our life.  Experiencing different cultures, foods, religions, and landscapes expand your mind more than a textbook ever will.

For the next few years, we traveled throughout Europe, went on countless cruises, and took expeditions throughout the US. One of the most memorable trips we took was when my family flew to Germany and we visiting distant family. It is easily my top travel moment when our very distant family invited us in their home, gave us snapps, then pulled out photo albums of thier visit to the US in the 70’s.

It was long after that trip that we went on a road trip throughout Portugal to Spain Upon returning some we discovered we were pregnant with Sophie!

Fun Fact: We were traveling to Austin when I got extremely sick with morning sickness. After that, I couldn’t bare the thought of traveling the mere thought of it made me nauseous for the remainder of the pregnancy.

The arrival of my daughter changed everything. I had the opportunity to stay home and care for her, but with it came terrible postpartum depression. I felt that I had lost my voice and was no longer contributing to our household.  After seeing my physician and getting help, I started my blog Consistently Curious.

The blog initially was a way for me to document our travels. If anyone was to read it, my goal was that it would inspire them to go make memories with their family as well. It turns out, lots of people love finding unique and fun destinations and experiences for their families.

Today, Consistently Curious has become my primary business. I partner with wonderful sponsors who help keep this site going and allow me to bring new and exciting places to my followers. If you haven’t already I would love for you to join our mailing list so that you receive our monthly newsletter with fresh new ideas for adventures.
