Ohio is full of fascinating small towns, with one of our favorites being the charming downtown area of Milford Ohio. . Downtown Old Milford is evolving into a dynamic hot spot, full of trendy eateries, boutiques along with popular housing developments, all situated along the Little Miami River.

While Milford’s downtown area can be a day trip in and of itself, there are tons of fun things to do throughout Milford, Ohio. Explore the great outdoors, take a spin on a go-cart, or listen to live music while enjoying an ice-cold craft beer. However you enjoy spending your day, Milford, Ohio, has the perfect itinerary. Directions To Milford Ohio

Milford, Ohio is located in Clermont County and Hamilton County in the southwestern portion of Ohio. It is a city that lies along the Little Miami River. Ohio State Route 50 runs right through downtown Milford, a booming area full of boutiques, restaurants, and living spaces.

Downtown Old Milford Ohio

One of the top spots to visit in Milford is the downtown area. It can act the springboard to more adventures in the area. If only exploring the downtown area, I recommend parking at Little Miami Brewing, grabbing a DORA beer, then walking the shops. You can always return for dinner or grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants.

There are a few public parking lots located along the main strip. Download the Map of Downtown Milford before visiting. There is also limited street parking available. Parking is free unless otherwise stated.

DORA In Downtown Milford Ohio

Downtown Milford is a DORA area. DORA, meaning Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area. DORA allows visitors to take their alcoholic beverages with them throughout the DORA boundaries. Look for signs. Keep in mind that the drinks have to be in a designated DORA container and purchased through a DORA designated establishment.

Go Shopping In Downtown Milford, Ohio

There are plenty of great shopping options in downtown Milford. After grabbing your DORA beverage, take a stroll through the town, taking in their beautifully decorated window displays. Swing into the Mercantile Mall for over 20 antique dealers, browse the curiosities at Enchanted Moments, then conclude your visit with homemade chocolate from Tickled Sweet.

Great boutiques such as Lei Marie Unlimited, Roads Rivers Trails, and Enchanted Moments line the main street. Grab a bite to eat at Padrinos, May Cafe, or The Governor. Brew fans will love a visit to Little Miami Brewing, which is also serving up freshly made pizzas. The area is continuously developing with a new coffee shop, a distillery, and shops popping up throughout town.

Expect to plan to spend an entire morning, afternoon, or evening exploring old Milford’s downtown area. Remember that many of the smaller shops will close up early on weekdays with varying hours on the weekends and holidays.

Stay at the Historic Old Milford Bed & Breakfast

Situated near the downtown strip sits a quaint Bed & Breakfast. It is within walking distance to restaurants, bars/brewery, shopping, Valley View Nature Preserve, and the Little Miami Bike Trail. It is the ideal retreat for couples looking for an escape.

The Old Milford Bed & Breakfast has two rooms available for rent. Keep in mind that this particular Bed & Breakfast does not allow children under the age of 8 as they intend to keep this a romantic and peaceful retreat.

The Homewood Suites

Located at Interstate 275 and Milford Parkway’s junction, The Homewood Suites by Hilton family-friendly hotel is an ideal spot near plenty of restaurants, a Walmart, Target, and the Milford 16 Movie Theater. The amenities at this hotel are aimed at families, from an indoor pool, basketball court, and continental breakfast.

Valley View Foundation

 Valley View Foundation is one of the last family farms in eastern Cincinnati. There are over more than five miles of trails to explore, including the historic barn. Download the trail map and start on your adventure. The trails are mostly flat and can be very muddy after rain. They do have picnic tables throughout the preserve as well.

Miami Meadows Park

This massive 200-acre park is the ideal recreational space! With plenty of open fields, playgrounds, basketball courts, and more. The park is home to a lake that allows residents to catch and release, a dog park, soccer fields, baseball fields, walking trails, and reservable picnic shelters.

Not far down the road is Miami Market, which is the ideal spot to grab sandwiches and picnic items to take to the park.

Shaw Farms

Shaw Farms, Milford, OH

This family farm is a staple for many Cincinnati families during the fall for their pumpkin times. From personal experience, I have been visiting Shaw Farms in Milford, OH, since I was a little girl. After frequenting many pumpkin patches, this one is still my favorite.

I feel they offer the best Halloween hayride, and I love the clever cut-outs that let children’s imaginations run wild. Maybe it is the nostalgia, but I must make my annual pilgrimage to Shaws during the fall. Shaw’s does sell fresh produce throughout the year as well.

This award-winning family fun center offers 13 incredible indoor attractions and entertainment options. Try your hand at a round of black-light mini-golf, take a lap around their indoor go-kart track, then top your evening off with a visit to the Pin Deck for bowling. This is a great spot to get a gift card for birthdays and holidays. There are plenty of dining options as well, including a snack zone.

Cincinnati Nature Center

Get outdoors with a visit to the Cincinnati Nature Center. As one of the top this to do in Milford, Ohio, the Nature Center is home to numerous hiking trails. This includes a Nature Playscape that is perfect for kids. The nature center does charge admission, so come prepared to pay per person the daily admission fee. Children under 3 are free.

Promont House Museum

Promont is a Victorian mansion circa 1865 and the former home of John M. Pattison, Ohio’s 43rd Governor. It is currently owned and operated as a museum by the Greater Milford Area Historical Society. Tours of the historical home can be set-up.

A little Cincy insider secret is that Recreation Outlet does not only sell outdoor playsets, trampolines, and basketball hoops. They offer guests an opportunity to come in and play on their displays for a small fee. It is the perfect way to let the kids burn energy or great rainy day activity. They even offer a small dining area where visitors can bring their meals and enjoy snacks.

From traditional fast food, causal chains to local restaurants, the options for dining In Milford, Ohio are abundant. 20 Brix, located in downtown Milford offers an upscale dining experience with chef-inspired entrees, while Miami Market is a fabulous grab-n-go eatery. (Get the chicken salad!)

Another local favorite is Bite restaurant, which has a great outdoor patio area. However, our ultimate choice is Roney’s. Roney’s is a fast-food restaurant that used to be called Roy Rogers. It serves out of this world roast beef sandwiches, fried chicken, and burgers.

Milford is near Eastgate, which is home to even more restaurants but most importantly, Jungle Jims. That is a foodie adventure that one must experience. Many of the restaurants offer pickup orders and have delivery order.
