Tips For Visiting The Butler County Donut Trail In Ohio

  • Start early! Most of these bakeries are family-run donut shops and have a loyal customer base. Therefore, supplies tend to run out so don’t expect some of their popular donuts to be there if you come strolling in a few hours before closing.
  • Remember that the trail does not need to be completed in one day. Take a weekend or a few weeks to enjoy the Donut Trail experience thoroughly.
  • Going with friends? Consider having a donut tailgate! That’s right, bring those mimosas and Bloody Marys. We set up a mimosa station outside in the parking lot while others went in to get donuts. Keep in mind we did have designated drivers for our outing.
  • Bring Tupperware to store donuts in. That is unless you are planning on devouring a dozen donuts in a few hours. Tupperware will help keep your donuts fresh. If you do eat the dozen, no shame, we are proud.
  • Share your donuts. In an attempt to not overindulge, split, or quarter donuts to share with others. Then place what is left in your Tupperware to enjoy later!
  • Many of the bakeries offer more than donuts. Check out their other sweet selections if you are not in the mood for a doughnut.
  • Cincy Brew Bus offers a Donut Trail Tour Experience that will take passengers to four local bakeries along the trail.
  • After you have sampled dozens of delicious donuts you will become a donut expert.
  • Make a yearly pilgrimage to the donut trail on national donut day.
